Downtown Dinners Ministry

“Selfless service to others.” – Saint Charles de Foucauld

Downtown Dinners is an ongoing joint ministry that began at St. Joseph Catholic Church (now closed) and has since grown into a broad ecumenical effort. Churches, faith leaders, and local businesses work together to provide meals, clothing, and essential care to those in need.

Bethany Covenant Church now hosts the dinners in its downstairs fellowship space, offering a welcoming place for both service and community.

Our Mission

We come from different traditions and perspectives, but we work together as Christians to live out Christ’s words:

“I was hungry and you gave me something to eat … whatever you do for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you do for me.”
Matthew 25:35, 40

Our Partners

This outreach is made possible through the collaboration of:

  • Holy Spirit Parish

  • Bethany Covenant Church

  • The Salvation Army Worship and Service Center

  • Sisters of Mercy of the Americas

  • Methodist Church

  • Local faith leaders, church members, and community businesses

Downtown Dinners is more than a meal. It is a place of compassion, dignity, and hope, where those who serve and those who are served alike experience the love of Christ in action.
